Bearth Day Open Thread

Still lovin’ vacation lyfe! Went on a bit of a roadtrip involving amazing burgers and fresh air, opened awesome presents that I’ll need to write about when I’m not sleepy. I’ve been playing a lot of Japanese games lately; yesterday was a Yakuza: Like a Dragon day, and today I completed a couple of missions on MGSV:TPP! I forgot about the birthday wishes Easter egg, and was reminded after rescuing a prisoner. I’ve also been having fun planting C4 Stuffed animals on any COMMS equipment I pass by, makes for a rewarding distraction! 😛

Oh, and I have a new tablet on the way! Should make for a fun experiment!

My Chariot Awaits

Today was a “Fuck it I’m not feeling well” kind of day. So, instead of working on my current video project I installed this little beauty.

This is a model(s) replacement for D-Horse. Why ride around on a normal looking horse when you can let these guys cart you around?

Huey really is a horse’s ass.

Well, that’s enough for one weekend I guess. I’m just glad to have played this without any issues, and even with mods!

MGSV Modded & Ret 2 Go

Happy Easter! I’ve been playing more with MGSV:TPP and modding; it’s actually just as easy under Linux as it is under Windows! I ran SnakeBite Mod Manager under Wine and added my mods back in; including some new ones. I rescued Miller, captured enough victims on my own base to develop a cardboard box, kidnapped hired a translator. etc. I was actually going to add another game to test under Linux, but the call to play this was far too strong to ignore.  I’m really happy with the results!

OMG Metal Gear Works Under Proton!

Last week I had a fun time playing Yakuza Kiwami under Proton, and for this weekend I decided to revisit the idea of running Metal Gear Solid V: TPP under Proton. My last attempts took place when Proton was a shiny new toy to be played with,  and MGSV:TPP didn’t really agree with it. You could load the game, but only the HUD was visible. This time around cutscenes played properly, it remained stable the entire session, and there was only one graphical glitch at the start of the game.

I’m currently running the game vanilla, but have plans to see if I can get modding to work properly. Overall I’m quite impressed!

The gift was a success

Awhile back I mentioned a conversation I had with a co-worker that ended up leading to me creating the above picture. I had it printed out as an 8×10 photo and framed it, then I wrapped it and hid it in our stockroom for him to find. Needless to say he had a good laugh, in fact I was surprised he didn’t fall on the floor. I think it sent some good vibes, we both had a relatively good day. Now I just need to hope he doesn’t attempt giftvengeance. :zorak:  That’s a word now, I’ve decided. :v:

Other than that I’ve taken to cleaning my bedding so that I can just relax for the weekend. I’m tired enough that I should be careful to not sleep through to Tuesday… I’ve been fighting my eyes with toothpicks for hours now. I think I’m only operating on 4 hours of sleep? I’m surprised I can even type right now. It almost feels like I’m typing this without thinking, like I could be president or something. :morty:

The diamonds mah god!

The curse doesn’t stop.

Streamed a little bit of MGSV tonight. I’ve expanded my base a bit and have unlocked some side op’s for mother base. I’ve also learned I can climb pipes… sexually. We couldn’t stop laughing at how ridiculous the climbing looks on the pipes. I’ve recorded it and may upload it in the future, among other things I really need to upload. :melon:

Giggity.

I only went on one side mission in Afghanistan, the rest of my time was spent finding diamonds around mother base and getting to know my newly created areas… and plenty of increasing staff morale.

WTF kind of name is Goblin Moose?

I’ve been increasing my staff more and more, and with that more morale is important, showing them love the only ways I know how… I did discover that I could shower myself off now, which I wasn’t expecting.

As opposed to the permanent shower unit.

This proved to be quite helpful in removing the flies that were plaguing my fine head of hair. Thank the melons for Loreal.
