MOAR YAKUZA COMING TO PC IN 2021 WOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Prepare to beat off more people.

I now have another reason for wanting to get this year over with for one more reason; it will put us members of the PC Master Race closer to obtaining all of the totally serious crime drama that is The Yakuza Series.

Sega today announced that the rest of the main Yakuza games – that’s 3, 4, 5, and 6 – will come to PC next year. That is, by my estimation, about 8000 hours of Kiryu helping strangers with emotional quandaries and absolutely decking villains. Hell yeah. They’ll all be covered by Xbox Game Pass For PC too.

I’ve been enjoying Kiwami during my weekends, and I was already planning on picking up Kiwami 2 and Like A Dragon during future sales. Now it looks like I’ll have to collect the entire series! I’ve been having fun talking about Kiwami at work with one of the few co-workers that I know who has actually played the series. I’m actually surprised the Yakuza titles aren’t more well known at this point considering the PS4 remasters have been around for awhile at this point; we’ve even sold them at work. Most of the people I talk games with at work are Playstation users too, how does that even work? O_o

Konami Is Building Gaming PC’s?

I shit you not:

In a nutshell: Konami, the one-time video gaming giant behind the likes of Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid, has entered the PC manufacturing business. Konami Amusements, a subsidiary of Konami Holdings Corporation, is now accepting orders for the first three Arespear gaming PCs.

I guess my only remaining question would be if they come with a free pachinko game?

Red Dead Redemption 2 Runs Better Under Linux?

I stumbled across this in my RSS feed the other day, and as someone who traverses between Windows and Linux frequently I was quite happy to read about this. Apparently if you own an AMD GPU then congratulations, you’ll have better performance under Linux rather than Windows .

The fact there is no native Linux client for RDR2 and there is a considerable amount of performance compared to Windows is both hilarious and impressive at the same time. May we see more results as above.

Weekend May Cry

I broke down and actually played a game outside of my lunch time! I’ve been so busy lately with work and other activities lately that I’ve barely had a chance to turn my computer on. I’ve done more gaming at work lately than I have at home, and that was enough for me to break down and play a game. It’s my Friday dammit! Time to pull out a sword and ready my ass for the kicking that is the original DMC. I had to remind myself how to play… ever walk away from a game for so long that you forget what was going on in the world around you where you last left off? It took me a little time to remind myself of the controls too, but I managed to make it past the “Dragon”.

That’s not a Dragon… that’s a T-Rex that shoots flaming loogies. I’ve decided.I played a bit of DMC5 today too on the new laptop. I had to reduce a few features on the old laptop, but on this laptop I have everything turned up, and it looks peachy at 144hz. I have been thinking somewhere down the road to look into selling my current monitors and going FreeSync. The only reason I haven’t done it any sooner is because a good chunk of what I play is already locked at 60 FPS, so why pay more to accommodate maybe 50% of what I play? To me the cost wasn’t worth it, but now that I’ve played around with G-Sync on a couple games I think I’m ready to make a couple new investments. I’ll just need to do some research and price things out. It isn’t a big priority right now, but I do see it in my future.

Christmas In Peru

Much more cheerful than I remember.

One of the games I remember receiving for Christmas when I was a kid was the original Tomb Raider. It was the only game that I had on both a console and a PC. To this day I still find reasons to return to this particular game, especially now knowing how moddable this game is. I found a full Christmas mod for the first original trilogy, and it felt right to start at the beginning with it to take in the full experience. I’ve recorded the stream, and will probably fashion it into a holiday video for next year if I have enough content. While I sit on this one and think about how to edit it, we can at least enjoy pictures from last night’s sight seeing:

From the mansion level to the main game, everything is covered in holiday cheer. The mansion has a custom winter skybox, as well as Christmas lights painted throughout the house. Even Lara is wearing her Christmas PJ’s, which for some reason bare her sequel… seems a tad narcissistic doesn’t it, Lara?

I’ve had to laugh at quite a few changes to the game. Wolves, bears, bats and even the skeletons have “Christmas Sweaters” painted onto their models, and we also have candy cane bridges and gates. Some to make you laugh, though there were others that made me scratch my head.

Anytime I swim underwater I keep randomly losing blood. My health isn’t actually going down, but for whatever reason blood comes out along with the bubble particles that are supposed to come out of her mouth. When you swim like this it seems like Lara’s Aunt Flo is having a visit anytime she goes for a swim. Truly this is a Christmas story that I will be telling for years to come. :zorak:

OH MY GOD THEY SKINNED SANTA

I think I found something to pick back up again when the holidays return once more. I’m definitely not going to finish this mod by the time Christmas is over, meaning I’ll have a new tradition to look forward to! I haven’t even scraped the tip of the iceberg with this mod, but I anticipate there will be much laughter as I continue through this version of the game, with plenty of eggnog chai in tow.

I wonder what other people have for holiday game memories? This one was by far one of the most memorable for me.

You Got Halo In My Linux?

It has been amazing watching what would be considered Console Exclusives finally giving PC Gamers long awaited access to titles that should have been sold across the board from the start.

I caught one of my British friends (MaddogSuperior) streaming the newly released PC version of the Halo Masterchief Collection these last couple of days, and I’ll usually leave Twitch on a 2nd monitor while I’m working on videos and stuff. The gameplay looked fun, but from what I also heard the input lag is quite terrible when driving vehicles. I’ll probably pick it up sometime down the road, right now it isn’t a big priority to me and I’d rather they work out any growing pains before I give Microsoft any money. Though I have to say I am surprised to see that at least the Single Player Campaign works nicely under Proton, which gets more and more awesome everyday it seems. It also seems that at least in Single Player you can mod the game to your heart’s content… moddable games are always a bonus for me.

Microsoft Wants To Improve Windows 10 Gaming Through “XBox Ideas”

Everything about this from wording to the execution is just wrong on so many levels…

Team Xbox would love to hear how you’d like to see gaming on Windows improved. How can Windows 10 enhance your gaming experience? What features would you like added or changed to make gaming on Windows 10 even better? Create suggestions, vote for suggestions, and leave comments below!

Right, because when I think PC Gaming I think of chatting in the XBox section… I’m guessing they’re doing it this way because of the way they want to tie XBox and Windows 10 gaming into each other to a certain degree while also trying to reclaim the gaming market they lost when they began neglecting it in the early or mid 2000’s when XBox became their main gaming priority. Right now there are 500 games that have been confirmed to work under Proton, something tells me that Linux is starting to catch up enough that Microsoft may want to start considering them a threat. Microsoft has always had Playstation to compete with, and Microsoft needs an OS equivalent on PC to do the same.

Of course, as someone who does still use Windows a couple times a week, my only request would be to turn off telemetry and automatic updates without the need to jump through several hoops, and stop including Candy Crush with your OS for fucks sake.

Here’s what you’ll need to run DMC5 on PC

Here’s the information I’ve been waiting for:

Something tells me my systems will be ready upon arrival. I probably won’t by it for pre-order or on day one, but I do want to pick this up once I confirm its a decent port, RE6’s benchmarks were impressive, and I’m hoping this won’t be any different. For now I’ll just enjoy the HD Collection, the other games, my entire game library, streaming, linux testing…

I forgot how to be bored. :v:
