One Episode Down!

Finished Episode 1 in Duke Nukem 2! I had fun trying to figure out how to thwart the endboss with limited ammo supply, but I fucking did it! Now it’s three episodes to go, when I get around to playing again. 😛

Duke Nukem 2 isn’t currently recommended for the Steam Deck, not enough testing, and it does require keyboard input for naming saves and scoreboard; but even when DOSBox is running through Proton it has no issues with the Steam Overlay. So far this is looking like it’ll get a thumbs up! I still need to finish the whole game though, just to share more of the experience! It would be cool to see some of these games garner more attention.

One of the things PC has over Console is the ability to go back in time and play any game we feel like playing. We don’t need to dig out old hardware. Sidescrolling games are still popular today, so it would be cool to see more people checking out the retro stuff.

Side Scrolling Saturday: Outland

Kicked off my weekend by playing Outland on my Steam Deck! It’s a fast paced side-scrolling platformer, where you learn to harness the power of light and dark to overcome obstacles and save the world yada yada yada. Also, it’s Linux native! Although you can run it in Proton if you’d like.

This Game Is Simply Fabulous!

In continuing my Octoberfest of Digital Horror I kicked off my weekend with another game to match the theme! I was in the mood for a metroidvania flavoured game, and I think I’m starting to understand the genre enough to get further in the game. I even got a couple achievements! I defeated a stormy hentai mermaid, and became an alchemist! I might consider grinding at it a bit more tomorrow. I’m thinking this will be one of the many games I’ll be loading on my Steam Deck once it is well within my possession. It’s the kind of game that plays perfectly on any controller, great for a portable or TV, and I’ll be able to do it all without buying into another platform!

Not everything in the 21st century is bad, I guess.

Work Induces Coma

I’ve had a pretty busy week. Between being sleep deprived and having to play catch up I wore myself out to a point that I took a nap in the afternoon and woke up at 6:00am. I did get the last bits of my SFM stuff taken care of, now I’m ready to finish up under Linux and I’ll have an abomination for the world to see. All I really need to do is polish the audio and I’ll be able to have a complete video.

I also volunteered some time to help a friend pack up the belongings of someone else, they are not much longer for the world and they needed help with packing everything up and gathering it all in one place for moving.

Came home and played some Borderlands Pre-Sequel and a little Broforce. I’m kind of surprised how buggy and long winded Pre-Sequel turned out to be, there are so many good concepts in the game, but you have to do so much backtracking in the beginning that it makes one’s head spin after awhile. Broforce was also annoying, but slightly less buggy. There was only one bugged level in multiplayer, rather than explain it I’ll probably save it for another video. I probably have a good bug/glitch blooper reel for Pre-Sequel as well. :v:
