Meanwhile… In My Weekend Land

I wasn’t really feeling it this weekend. Still feeling jetlagged from the last work week, and the cold dark weather doesn’t seem to be helping me want to stay awake. I’ve been taking it easy these last couple days, returning to Skyrim which is basically a comfort food game at this point. I played a little at lunch the other day, piloting my TARDIS around Skyrim, and that was enough for me to cause shenanigans on my desktop version.

I keep meaning to sit down and play Special Edition now that it has plenty of mods to garner my interest, but the plans I have in store for the build would probably take me a couple days to prepare. :v So for the time being I’ll settle with Oldrim from time to time when I feel the need to throw my melons at people.

Or salad I guess.

You should always waste time when you don’t have any

My plans to work on one of my video projects kinda went up in smoke due to… well the overwhelming amount of fire smoke from California and my state of Oregon. The northwest of the US is on fucking fire right now, and it seems like it gets drier and drier every year with everyone treating this as the new norm. I miss having summers without smoke and elpresidente orange skies. As often as I’m having to use my laptop I really should consider putting SFM and Shotcut on here; the real question is how would I go about syncing my projects between systems.

Of course there is the old standby…

I’ve been piloting my TARDIS around. I’ve only flown it a couple times, but other than that I’ve hardly touched the mod due to… well other mods distracting me before I get around to it. :v I have it all figured out for the next stream… perhaps we can play Musical TARDIS and everyone watching can be my companion, almost anyone is better than Lydia, even a Teddy Bear.

Getting Skyrim (Oldrim) to run on a 144hz G-Sync Display

I sat down today and put some time aside to fix my Skyrim on the new laptop. My new ROG has a 144hz G Sync display, and Skyrim doesn’t play nice with high frame or refresh rates. I followed this guide and it did the trick. The local wildlife no longer has seizures around me, and I no longer randomly swim in midair.

Cutting film the days away

The last couple days have been pretty peaceful. I managed to de-tangle some jewelry, work mostly on my art and even did a bit of a livestream yesterday; unfortunately it was not without technical difficulties. I ran some tests today, and I’m thinking updating my GPU driver under Windows fixed it. The only thing I updated under there recently was OBS, and sometimes newer versions conflict with older drivers. I recorded Skyrim for about an hour and a half and didn’t get any crashes. Hopefully it stays that way next time I go to do a stream.

In case anyone is interested, here are the vids:

Well I know what I’ll want to do in a couple weeks

I heard through the grapevine that another Skyrim multiplayer mod is in the works, and it looks fairly interesting!

I remember when some friends and I attempted another mod that was aiming to be multiplayer, but during our testing I ended up between two naked men with man voices and a never ending amount of dragon souls being absorbed for no apparent reason.  I mentioned on stream recently that I would love a more successful mod, and this could possibly be that mod! It’s currently in a closed beta stage at the moment, but in a week or two it will be releasing to the public. If anyone else is interested they might want to stay tuned to this particular Twitter for more details… although with a mod like this I wouldn’t be surprised if all the big gaming news sites decided to cover this a little more extensively.

If this works out it would be a dream come true for me, and I’m sure other Dragonborn that got tired of sitting in chairs and thrones all by their lonesome.

We can all go the the spa together, and I can introduce my friends to my friend corpse buddy! We could adventure together! Sit around the campfire telling stories about the love affair between Nazeem and Jarl Balgruuf’s backside. Bonus points if it’s more stable than Fallout76, though I’m aiming for the sky at this point. :v:
