Chillin’ and killin’

Today’s weather granted me the perfect excuse to sit around in my PJ’s, eat pizza, drink tea, and do some Skyrim since I’ve been putting that off a bit. My character has become a werewolf. O_o I’ve been having fun feeding on bandits and Stormcloaks that are unlucky enough to cross my path. I’ve also been playing around in the dev console a bit for added fun. I turned Arivanya into a horse, then I traveled to Whiterun and turned Heimskr into a High Elf. I also had lots of guards turning into sweet rolls. Good times.

I also checked out the new Shadow Warrior game yesterday. Didn’t realize it would be an NVidia Gumworks title, but it still runs quite nice on my Fury! There were some dips certain areas but most of the game so far has been butter smooth and the weapons have been extreme fun, and of course the game itself retains it’s humor. I was kind of bummed though to find that you can’t save whenever you want. It’s all checkpoint based, but having played games like Borderlands it’s not that difficult to get used to. Heck when you die you have to pay, also similar to Borderlands. I think much like it’s last game I’ll take it slow. I want to savor this game a bit. It also has a multiplayer feature, now I just need to find friends to play with… let alone find time to play multiplayer games with friends. 😛

A small break before heading back to reality

The Goblin Queen and her allies.

As hectic as work has been lately it felt nice to sit down to some Skyrim today. I’m back in Solsthiem searching for caves I haven’t encountered yet during this playthrough. Got my hands on the magic spiders and even crafted some of my own. The lightening and oil spiders are my favorites, though all of them are great to send to kill enemies. The blue goblins are also quite formidable against quite a few people. I saw a pack of them take down my Dremora lord. Of course I put them all in their place with my electrical crossbow. 😛 The ones that randomly appear when I’m in danger have been handy, enough to the point of me keeping one around as a follower. I have no regrets about becoming goblin queen, though given my current circumstances it still weirds me out.

This week and next week might be a little hectic for me. I have split days off both weeks, some of the customers have been entertaining me with their blatant stupidity though. I don’t know which was better… The lady looking for a case for their iPhone Galaxy 6 or the guy that wanted to know if all of our laptops came preinstalled with the bible… Work has been dragging me down and I think the 18 hours of sleep I awoke from this morning might be a sign. This whole time I still don’t consider myself a morning person, and the changes they’ve been making in our department would be great if we were all scheduled accordingly. But since we’re spreading ourselves thinner and thinner while also looking into laying off a couple more people I’m not sure how this is going to play out.

Sunday Evening Open Thread

I promised myself that when I woke up today I would prepare Miso Soup for breakfast. I did not disappoint myself, it was very good. Around lunch time I threw in some soba noodles. There are no more leftovers… I’ll have to make more.

Other than that I pretty much kicked back. I was thinking of tidying up a bit but my body kinda told me no. Ended up going into the cinema and watching goofy stuff, then kinda-sorta babysitting some kids that appeared. I managed to ban one of them. Then I played a small bit of Skyrim because I realized I went almost an entire day without wielding a sword… That is a problem that needed to be corrected.

Oh, I also have a new scarf. You can see me rocking it with my purple white hair.

itsme

So many people think the silver hair is deliberate, I was going to fix it… but with all the positive feedback I figured I’d keep it. Plus this is going to sound strange, but I’ve started to like it. Even though people at work see my Skyrim character and assume that it’s literally me recreated in the game… Lovely, I have a doppelganger… And it isn’t Bacon Lara.

Skyrim Sunday

falmerdeath1

Today would have been an awesome day to play Obduction, but it still runs like total shite on an R9 Fury and a 3.3 Ghz Xeon and I didn’t feel like getting out my laptop. I’ve opted to return to fabulous Skyrim where once again I’m nearing level 40, hopefully my saves remain awesome. Other than that I loaded up a couple birthday packages to send out to my friends in other parts of the world, and just relaxed today. It was a nice warm summer day, but didn’t go anywhere because there was nothing to really do other than kill some Falmer and reconstruct some cardboard boxes I murdered the other day.

The streamening is nigh

Apart from some technical difficulties between YouTube and OBS with LOTS of teeth gritting trying to get the damn thing to run tonight I completed another test run, this time with Skyrim. We tested audio levels between my microphone, mumble chat and the game. I think I’m about ready to do a public event of some kind. 😀 I wanted to do Obduction, but with it’s bugs and the memory leak issue I don’t think I’d be a happy camper, unless I stream it from my laptop to my desktop THEN to YouTube… Ugh.

I haven’t decided if I’m going to livestream Skyrim or not, since my playstyle might bore people… I’m overpowered, but then again my selection of mods might keep it interesting. What I’d REALLY love to livestream is some team based stuff, like the Lara Croft games, Broforce, etc.

Coming up for air again

There hasn’t been much to write about, things are going pretty smoothly AFAIK. I’ve been collecting all kinds of footage whenever I play anything. Not sure what I’ll do with it but I have been contemplating posting a video about the Elgato. I recorded some Skyrim shenanigans with it, as per usual. I had a weird thing happen when I went to sleep in a rented room in Candlehearth Hall:

Apparently most of the local staff and patrons thought it would be a real hoot to watch me sleep, not once but twice. My brain instantly wanted to come up with a storyline idea for why that would happen. Maybe they’re concerned because I’m not a nord, and most people do enjoy watching cats sleep… although I’m not much of a Khajit anymore.

Ugh, and now I have to go to sleep. I’ve been staying up later than usual due to the nice summer weather and some of the strange scheduling lately… I’m thinking, and hoping that I’ll even out soon. I think it’s playing a bit with my attitude, I haven’t exactly been feeling… right lately.

I’ve gone Elswyer

I’ve finally made my way to Elswyer, the version included in the Legacy Of The Dragonborn mod. The voice work has been kinda hit and miss but I’ve been enjoying the tropical sights and the story in general.

Fighting the Thalmor, who clashed with my airship above the Elswyer province.

So far I don’t have many complaints about it. Other than maybe the lighting, and as I’ve said above the voice work. The voice acting itself sounds great, but the microphone quality for some of the NPC’s just didn’t mesh well. If it were more crisp I would have found it more believable.

Have some epic Skyrim pix

Guess what I’ve been up to?

Yep, always something interesting going on in this game.

I really need to get to Solitude at some point. I have lots and lots of swag for the Dragonborn Museum sitting in my ever expanding cybernetic backpack that I don’t need to keep hauling around, but I’m closer to Windhelm. I could cheat my way there but I’d rather wander around. And with this game there is no shortage of wandering. 😛

Do you believe in magic?

New to the campus

Made it to Winterhold today. I have the College overhaul which makes the place look much more immersive. I’ve already spent an entire in game day wandering around looking at all the cool stuff and doing some of the college quests. I even helped a dragon remove food particles from their teeth:
