Sunday Skyrim Thread

My current game has been going quite well. I’ve crafted a katana with electrical damage and soul trapping:

This time around I’m mostly relying on materials I find within the game rather than spawning them in the console (with a few exceptions such as my playermodel/armor and anything that doesn’t have a place in the game). I’ve even been crafting the scarves and halos from scratch.

Fun fact: To make that scarf I had to use a white scarf and red mountain flowers. Some of the ingredients to put scarves together are rather… unique. Like using butterfly wings and metals to get the desired colours. Fortunately I have a lot of stuff in my inventory with room to spare… Which to be fair I did increase with the console, but that’s kind of part of my character’s story. I can carry a ton o swag.

Skyrim Remastered will be a free upgrade on PC

Seems lots of interesting news came out of E3 from Bethesda today, including this little gem.

If you own #Skyrim and all its add-ons or own Legendary Edition on Steam, you’ll get a free upgrade to Skyrim Special Edition on Oct 28 #BE3

A wonderful side effect to it becoming part of the current gen consoles. My only hope is that nothing bad happens to peoples savegames and mods.

I had some inconsistencies with my Skyrim install, so ended up having to clean up and start over again… I’m not too upset, this time around I’m going to keep a journal of my character’s adventures. Tell the tale of Skyrim from the perspective of my character. My character thinks the Ulfric Stormcloak, who was gagged and murdered the high king with his voice is one fucking horrible bard. So I’m kinda sorta being In Character with this, but since this isn’t a lore friendly playthrough it’ll be kinda funny.

I had the day off for a change. Didn’t do much apart from sleep and do some Skyrimming. I became a bard!

I was pretty exhausted from yesterday, so pretty much slept most of the morning and day (that and I’m still getting over a cold). I went to the fair and got some watermelon cotton candy which tastes surprisingly good. That was pretty much the entire highlight of the fair this year… What was really fun was going to the local airport, they were giving out $20 rides in planes. I managed to get some footage while up in the air. I’ll get around to posting it maybe tomorrow, or soon. In the meantime my brother got some real nice pictures at his blog of the planes. I managed to snap a few myself.

I think I’m starting to feel better, though I’ve mostly been sleeping and taking lots of different over the counter medicines. Decided to return to the Windows side today to play some Skyrim since I haven’t played much in the last few days of feeling like hell. I met a custom companion, not sure what mod they’re from but I decided to add them long enough to give them some clothes. They were in a dreadful woven tunic and trousers before I reached into my infinite swag bag to make them almost as fabulous as I am.

I’m the ruler of smurf goblins

I’ve solved almost all of Solstheim, even some quests I didn’t get to on my last play through. But my biggest WTF quest had to be helping the reiklings murder the lazy nords, thus causing me to become their ruler.

Then I wandered behind their throne (which is too tiny for my ass) and was accompanied by what one of my friends calls “twerking smurf”. You can’t tell from the pic, but that’s totally what he did. I stared in amazement.

Yeah, that was a weird quest. The last time I did it I helped the lazy nords take back the castle, then embarrass the hell out of their leader. 😛 Nope, this time I’m the blukake goblin king queen… Would have been funnier if this took place in Labyrinthian.

Skyrim Open Thread

After a hard day of work I decided to kill some time in Skyrim by wandering the island of Solstheim. I’ve defeated Miraak, and protected Nirnroot from the horkers.

I love Solstheim. I’ve never played Morrowind, but I love the scenery. Tel Mithryn actually reminds me of Teledahn from Uru, those shrooms…

I even had a small audience on Steam by having a friends only broadcast. 😀 I have witnesses for the crimes I may or may not have committed. :v Actually, my character is a goodie two heels. A murderous goodie two heels but still, not as evil as one would expect me to have it when left to my devices…

If you have Wyrmstooth you’d better hold on to it

In case no one has heard, the creator of Wyrmstooth has taken their mod off of the Skyrim Nexus, Steam, everywhere. They also took down every website and account at other websites that they could. It’s sad, I really liked that mod. I still have copies of it though. I was actually wanting to review that mod at some point when I find time to do that sort of thing again. But it was a beautiful mod with great scenery, adventure, and brilliant humor and voice acting for something fan created. It’s a total shame this DLC sized mod was pulled. 🙁
