We Conquered Quake!

Thanks to our collaborative efforts we successfully beat Quake together! It’s the first time for the both of us. I’ll still have to complete the game alone to get achievements, but it was great to finally experience co-op for Quake! Next time we play we’ll have the expansions to tackle, and maybe even some addons. I’ll have to see how possible it is to play custom maps together. We’ll probably need vkQuake to pull it off properly.

I’ve had Quake so much on the brain today that I added the maps to SFM. Unfortunately they didn’t have proper HDR lighting, which SFM needs for it to load properly. So I ended up learning how to decompile Valve maps, and then learning how to recompile them with HDR. It’s actually easier than it sounds. Next time I find a map that I want to use I won’t have the lack of HDR to stop me!

Conjuring SFM To Do My Evil Bidding… Of Evil

I won’t have much in the way of YouTube content this month. Instead I’m siphoning my creative time towards some spooky scenes for a projector we’ll have outside. It’ll only be a couple minutes on loop of some spooky scenery, but far better than your trad Halloween projector. I’ll have it all compiled before the end of the month.

More Videos Coming Soon!

Starting next week I will be releasing YouTube videos! I’m hoping to get my current project wrapped up towards the end of the month, and I already have a couple other releases planned in the meantime. Worst case scenario the last video releases in July.

The Campfire Must Go On

Today was mostly a day of animation. It’s been awhile since I last worked on animation for a Skyrim video, and today I made up for it in spades. I’m pretty close to exporting this scene, then I’ll start working on more greenscreen madness… assuming I don’t get drawn into another project, like The Game Of Life? That one did a good job of taking over my animation time. With the amount of animation I put in tonight I’ll probably take a break from it and do something different tomorrow in the form of self care. Maybe some couch time with a good game and tea if the weather is supposed to be as suck as the forecast predicts.

Fun & Fantasy

Sunday is always my recharge day, and I needed it. An orange kitty made sure I got plenty of rest, and I treated myself to a breakfast bowl with ingredients from last night’s dinner. We had our usual weekend BG3 sesh! We defeated a Witchy Biznitch and are currently making our way to a monastery. We fought some explosives drunks and demon cats along the way.

I also made time to do a little bit of animating this afternoon. I haven’t touched SFM for about a week, needed to scratch that animators itch. It’ll still be awhile, but I think I’m finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel on this one… maybe after another week or two. I’m planning to release it next month, so no rush. I might even put in a little more time before calling it a night. The more I pour into it, the less I’ll have to do later.

SFM Update: We Be Cookin’

I’ve been putting along with my animation, slowly but surely. This probably won’t be finished until April, was hoping to get it out this month but I’m pretty sure it won’t be happening. The beginning sequence has been completed, now I’m about a third of the way through the end sequence. Yesterday I didn’t have time to work on it, but I did manage to export some audio for the next bit of animation in my lineup. That one will also be a lengthy bit of animation, and the ending I have written for it will take even longer than yesterday’s two minutes that I extracted. It’ll be fun once I get to it. 🙂

From The Fires Of My Desktop

Had a fun recording session tonight for a future Skyrim vid! I’ll have plenty of audio to go over next time I have time to slice and dice it. Tomorrow I was going to go over some video footage for Borderlands 3 to see if any of it’s worth sharing, and it’ll give me an excuse to check out more of KdenLive’s video editing suite. I played with it a bit yesterday when going over video footage that I inevitably ended up deleting. Shotcut will probably continue to remain on my system, but I figure it also doesn’t hurt to see what KdenLive has to offer – especially given that I’m looking at HDR video editing, and Shotcut currently doesn’t support it while KdenLive does. That’ll be my project for tomorrow. 🙂

Greetings from the Evil Petting Zoo.

Then for my last hour of entertainment for the evening I ended up playing a bit more DOOM 2, and managed to make it through The Circle of Death. I’m thinking after beating DOOM 2 of checking out Sigil and Sigil 2, the unofficial third and fourth episodes of DOOM by John Romero himself. Two days of DOOMING it is enough though, need to think of another distraction for tomorrow night. I know once the 14th of Feb comes around there might be some new shiny vintage Tomb Raider to play, and it’s even verified for Steam Deck!

Sunday Night Fun: A Lil’ Work & A Lil’ Play

We had our weekly BG3 session tonight. I drank some bad well water, pissed off a Swamp Karen and collected sausages and other odd swag.

Also managed to frame a future scene for one of the next Skyrim videos. It’s going to be a gaming montage from one of the past livestreams, it’ll probably be awhile before it sees the light of day. I have everything pretty much posed in place, now I’ll just need to draft a story together to tie into the gameplay. I already have a few ideas, just need to put them into a format involving words.

Other than that I’ve been enjoying fine wine and creamy choco-hazelnut tea lattes. Tonight I made a spicy tuna tomato pasta tonight with olives, and last night I made my own rendition of Beef Burgundy Stew. I say my own rendition because I had to change a few things in the recipe to make it more tolerable. Like, not using four fucking onions. I traded two of them for some quartered red baby potat’s. A stew without potat’s?! That’s a fucking crime! The stew tasted even better today when I had some with a breakfast sandwich. Between those two meals I won’t have to worry about making anything for a few days. 🙂
