Finished the first three levels of the Autumn Hub World! We’ve been having warm-ish weather here the last few days, but it’s been hella gray… THIS is where my weekly dose of Spyro comes in handy, with its colorful world ready to sweeten my eyes with its visual candy.
Went on a flight, did some pest control, collected some bones and saved some cavemen. Good way to spend the evening, a good game and some tea as per usual. I’m almost tempted to play a little more tomorrow!
Almost…
Each game in my library is screaming at me to play it, and with only so much time in an evening you can only advance your catalog so much. 😛
Got my weekly dose of Spyro out of the way! I spent a good few hours getting through the Summer Forest World.
The difficulty curve has really ramped up compared to last week’s excursion. I had to redo one of the speedway maps more times than I care to remember, and then there was my adventures in the mine cart of DOOM.
I’m pretty sure I spent almost an hour trying to get it right, but eventually I prevailed and collected all of the METAL GEARS.
Once again it was a nice escape for the evening! I gained a few achievements, and moved the plot along enough now that I’ll move onto something else tomorrow night.
The copious amounts of film noir rainy weather have been putting me in a mood for more colorful games, and it doesn’t get much juicier than the Spyro games. I played more Year Of The Dragon, and funny enough we’re actually in the year of the Dragon! I might have to play more games involving Dragons as a kind of a personal side-quest for myself.
I cleared a couple levels, found all the gems, spheres and completed some basic puzzles. They’re pretty simplistic, but then again this is a revamped kids game from the 90’s. I’m only playing through it because the original games were never available where I lived growing up. My only childhood memories of Spyro involved the first levels of the original Spyro game on a Pizza Hut demo disc. It’s kinda funny telling younger gamers today about those old times about ordering pizza and getting demos, fun times.
With my weekend on the rise I’ll probably kick it off with something a little more adult, something to sleep on anyway. I only have a few hundred ideas to choose from. :v
Spyro seemed like a zen way of ending the evening after having a relatively nice day, even at work. Switching from morning chai to a light grapefruit jasmine so that my body may power down properly, as I’m also listening to the pitter patter of rain both digitally and in reality. Finally setting the mood to lay my weary head upon the pale pillows majesty after such vivid adventures after a quiet noir day.
Decided to chill with some more Spyro Trilogy. I’ve learned how to swim underwater after paying a bear an extortion fee! I helped tame a manta-ray and rescued some seahorses. I just wanted to chill tonight, been feeling a little jet lagged from pulling a graveyard.
Took a small break from my platinum shenanigans to play a wee bit of Spyro Trilogy before calling it a night. I finished one of the worlds, and now I’ve left off in a world where I have to help babysit turtles. It was a nice colourful getaway before making preparations to sacrifice myself to the darkness in exchange for work energy. I’m gonna need as much of it is I can this week…
Decided to play a little Spyro to finish off the evening; I’m still in the Beast Maker’s World, and I only need to complete Metalhead and Tree Tops. Tree Tops is going to be an absolute biatch to 100%.
Once again I didn’t have much time to put into my project, but I did at least manage to edit some audio and added it to my SFM assets. If I’m lucky I’ll be able to start animating tomorrow.
Throughout the work week I made my lunch time gaming about one game, and one game only. Spyro, modded to be as colourful as my gaming hardware. I’ve been trying to 100% each level and homeworld, and I’ve finally made it to Beast Makers! I’ve decided to leave off to venture into other worlds. I’ve made enough progress to be happy for now, and I always savor a game more when I take my time… unless it’s good enough to play over and over again! 😀
I should pay a visit to the Nexus again to see if there are more entertaining mods.
I had a nice quiet evening to myself, a bit of a cold bite in the air, and managed to have a little fun with some Proton Powered Spyro to help heat up the room. Now if I could just figure out how to get a mod manager to work properly under Proton or Wine it would be perfect. I even managed to get a couple achievements/trophies at the same time! One funny thing that did happen was finding a sleeping sky bat; usually they hang from the ceiling in the ice cave.
As per the usual weekend tradition I’ve been taking some time to play around with different games. I checked out KaBounce and Shadwen yesterday, and ended the night with a bit of Spyro. But today I binged on Spyro in much the same way that I binged on curry. I’ve jumped ahead in the series to Year Of The Dragon, and it’s been a blast. I’ve enjoyed swimming as well as playing other characters. I even got to play as a flying penguin with a rocket launcher, so far that one is my favorite:
I also was not aware of the fact that Spyro: Year Of The Dragon was the game that gave birth to emojiis
I also can’t get over how surprisingly chipper the local creatures are, even when trying to be sad:
I’m glad to finally be playing this, feels like I’m making up for lost time whenever I play it, given that I was only limited to a Pizza Hut demo disc as a kid. But for now it’s time for me to shelve this one until the next play date. I’ve got other ideas for next weekend, projects, shopping, games or otherwise. Tomorrow I’m going to start preparing for the second Skyrim video. I need to record some voice lines and extract the audio clips that I’ll be animating. It’s looking like another one that I’ll be investing some time in, we have another special ending planned. I probably won’t be able to share many pictures until sometime next month.
