A Meal Well Seasoned

I had some Shrimp lying around in the freezer, and green curried rice sounded nice. So I made that for dinner tonight along with some veggies.

This is a Thai inspired hot and sour salad. I didn’t have all the vegetables I needed in order to make it, but it still tasted fine to me.

For a light dessert type thing I had a green chai with coconut milk and a little honey.  This particular chai blend has almonds in it, complimenting the green tea and the coconut milk.

The best part is that I have plenty of leftovers for after work. I’ve been doing milkshakes in the afternoon the last couple of days and it’ll be nice to have some noodles to greet me after work.

This is now a food blog apparently

I opted to leave out the pita shell and make a salad instead for my after work lunch, turned out quite nice. I made a spicy Thai tuna salad mixture with some fish sauce, lemon and lime juice, cilantro, shallot, ginger, serrano pepper, honey roasted peanuts and some curry paste. I layered some sushi rice above some salad greens and spooned the tuna mix on top to make something like a Thai tuna sushi, but with tomato and cucumber. The nice thing about this mixture is that you can serve it in a multitude of ways/ It makes a good tuna melt, crisp sandwich or wrap… and as mentioned in the previous post pita bread. :v I also bought some pralines for snacking, they are a new addiction I’m trying not to let happen too often.

I rendered some SFM stuff earlier, still have a bit more to go. Sometimes I have to split up one file into two due to a particular bug. For some reason every once in awhile when I try to keyframe something the program will be stuck on a different scene entirely. I had to render up to a point that I hadn’t animated yet, split it off at that point and did an export. I remember this happening under Windows too awhile back, it seems to occur randomly.

Evening Open Thread

Tonight I decided to chip in and make dinner for everyone, this was a bit of a challenge since I haven’t felt well these last couple of days. But I had taken painkillers and candy, and was able to put together a chicken curry dish:

Originally it wasn’t supposed to have a bunch of vegetables in it, they were for a Thai salad to accompany the chicken curry. Sadly when I went shopping today they were out of some additional ingredients, which left me with combining the vegetables with the curry. I regret nothing. 😛 I used Mongolian fire oil to stir fry everything, and a yogurt curry masala. It was spicy, but just the right kind of spice. It paired well with peanut sauced noodles, everyone loved it. The best part is that there’s still leftovers for tomorrow’s lunch!

Starting the day off right

Figured I would treat myself to a long needed homemade breakfast. I made a Thai style omelet seasoned with lime, fish sauce and Shichimi Togarashi (Japanese pepper and seasoning mix), then I filled the omelet with Swiss Cheese (I know it isn’t Thai, but fuck it I love filling my omelets) and roasted red pepper. Then of course there’s bacon and buttered toast with some passionfruit papaya black tea with some honey, because I need a little sweetness in my life. :zorak:
