Indika Is An Interesting Game

Indika.

One day while doomscrolling through the Fediverse I came upon Indika; A game about a young girl named Indika, who happens to be a nun in an alternate 19th century Russia. She goes on a journey of self discovery, and meets an unlikely companion along the way. Indika is an indie title with a team so dedicated to finishing their project that they (10 out of 14) had to flee their homeland of Russia in order to finish it. That alone made me curious to see what this game had to offer.

Indika gathering water from a well to fill a barrel for a cunty nun.

When you start the game it doesn’t take too long to realize that Indika is an outcast amongst her own. She’s forced to reside along a coven of bitchy babushka nuns, and performs tasks her sisters give to her. All the while she is narrated by The Devil himself, who is also a voice in her head. Eventually Indika has to leave the church to go on a journey of self discovery. When Indika isn’t wandering the frozen lands looking for items for basic puzzle solving, she relives childhood flashbacks in a more pixelated environment.

Indika having a flashback to a time where she raced her father on an oven powered bicycle.

When the game starts she actually falls through space, and later she has a flashback with her father and their oven powered bicycles. The game also gives you the option of collecting points that don’t do anything… or do they?

So far it has been a interesting, unique adventure. Like if classic Resident Evil centered around a nun who goes on regular acid trips. It has the right level of intrigue and horror for me to recommend checking out during Spooktober!

Atop The Mountain Of Outland

Gave my Steam Deck some much needed love tonight after I got home. I haven’t been taking it to work much, and even when I have I haven’t really been playing it. I either don’t have time during lunch to play, or have been so interested in reading on my tablet that all gaming activities can just wait until I get home. It just felt nice plopping down on the bed and playing a bit of Outland. The last time I played was back at the start of the year, my how time flies…

I gained a couple new abilities, and even thwarted a boss battle. I only died a couple times, then continued to die multiple times more during my adventures. Tonight I finally unlocked the launchpad ability! I’m looking forward to visiting past areas to see what I’ve missed. Might find more hearts and orbs to make me stronger, who knows?

Kickin’ Those Tires

It seems not many gamers look for the Relics in the Crash Bandicoot games, at least on PC. I got the “Kick the Tires!” achievement/trophy for earning 5 relics from time trial mode.Apparently, only 5% of players took the time to play in time trial mode. Kinda weird to think that something as easy as playing time trial to get an achievement for a handful of relics isn’t even taken into consideration. Gathering ALL of the relics? I could see that one getting skipped… but just five?

I called it quits after gathering 6. They’re all sapphire rank, not sure if I’ll have enough patience to get the gold or platinum ones.

Praise The Sun(day) King

Today was a cozy Sunday filled with plenty of healthy brunch, and a full day of HZD! Finished a couple of quests in the Frozen Wilds. Now I’m back on the main path after a bunch of flower hunting, corrupt machine zone cleansing, and a tallneck was there somewhere.

Haven’t decided if I’ll continue the journey tomorrow, or to move onto something else. I basically put in a full shift of HZD today, a little more than I planned to. Can’t be helped though, it’s like watching a really interesting movie, with the thrill of the hunt! It’s no different than binge watching movies on a rainy day, this one is just interactive… and moddable. :v

To The Frozen Wilds!

Made it to The Frozen Wilds DLC! Really beautiful mountain area, and plenty more time for me to waste enjoy here! I’ve already gained a few quests that will be keeping me busy for a bit.

The Frozen Wilds are home to The Banuk; one of the many tribes you find throughout HZD. They are a people that treat the machines as if they have their own spirits, and the lands are plagued by a an evil daemon. I have to find a Shaman by walking The Shaman’s Path, but not before completing a couple other side-quests that happen to be in easy reach.

I left off entering an old building, with a puzzle awaiting me when I’m slightly less tired. Tonight I put in a good few hours after a bit of animation.  It’s supposed to be raining tomorrow, might play this some more to keep warm. 😛

The Hunt Continues

See… I had plans to wrap up my animation project, but there was an empty couch in need of a tired body after a long work week, and an imagination in dire need of a cinematic fix with a side of tea. I only meant to play for a couple hours, but it ended up being the rest of the evening… this game is just too good. Found some new machines to study… and kill. I also saved the city of Meridian from a very punchable protagonist (not the guy in the above picture) and did tons of exploration.

I may or may not continue this tomorrow… or maybe a little more tonight! 😛

Another Scorcher

Another warm summer like day means another day on my Steam Deck! Something about playing Hades in the hot heat seems immersive enough. Still haven’t been able to get past the Champions of Elysium, but I am getting stronger and making the place look a little lived in, even gave Cerberus the best bed a good boi could deserve. I’ve been seeing more people play this, probably to prepare for Hades 2. It’s been tempting to buy, but my current collection makes me slap myself on the wrist at the thought of doing so. I at least need to finish the first one first! 😛

Besides… it’ll give the game some time to mature in Early Access while I go about climbing Mt. Backlog.

Finally Beat Portal Reloaded!

I thought someone was cooking bacon nearby tonight, but it was just me wracking my brain on the final puzzles. This was so incredible that I kept forgetting it was just a game mod.

Until I find someone to play Multiplayer with I’ll have to check out some other mods! I’m thinking Portal Revolution will be the next one to check out.
