This Post Is For Nerds

I made the mistake of running updates on my Linux-Surface Pro over the weekend. When I wake it from suspend under KDE Wayland it wakes erratically. It will wake and instantly go back to sleep, it will hang when trying to bring up the password prompt, or it might not even bring it up at all and just instantly freeze upon waking. Fortunately the Xorg version of Plasma doesn’t have this problem, but now I can’t rotate the screen (first world problems, I know…). At least I can use the Xorg version for now while I casually research the problem, and balance the hundreds of other things on my to-do list that feel like multiple swords of Damocles.

Meanwhile: I started watching the Preserving Privacy lecture in Harvard’s CS50 Cybersecurity class. I’ll probably finish the assignment tomorrow night after I get off of work. So far I’ve really enjoyed the flexibility in these courses. Though I’m pretty sure the paid ones would be more time consuming, and have shorter deadlines.
