It looks as though I’m the guest blogger for another week – Yay!!! Wheees!!!
In celebration, I took a nice long hot bath, awwwwws!!!!
Baths with bath salts are great!!! Yays!!!
Ruining It For Everyone Else Since 2004
Yays! I got this picture in the Pierce College Student Literary Magazine, SLAM! Mine is the first photograph in the magazine, so that was an honor too!
And most of the other students that had submissions were art students or English students. Didn’t see anyone from the accounting department there, imagine that lol! So it was an interdepartmental experience today lol!
We had an hour-long event with some authors reading their poetry. It was a fun time!
I also ran into a gal that I went to high school with, and she had two of her paintings in SLAM! I said hi to her and had a nice chat and such, so that was fun!
I can see from the entries that did make it into the magazine that the judges are looking less for nature photos and more for ‘artistic’ sort of photographs (or is that artsy-fartsy? Probably artsy-farty lol)
I might try submitting this photo of heather in the middle of the Puyallup Campus of Pierce College for next year’s SLAM:
Or perhaps not, we’ll see. I might try taking a few pictures with the idea of submitting them, too, since the next deadline is months away – Yay!!!!! Or maybe not since I’m slack!!!! Wheeees!!!
Have funz everyone!!!!
Filmed 3 Left 4 Dead 2 maps straight in windowed mode tonight without any visual failure. Nothing note worthy of putting up on YouTube but I think the problem was solved. Disabling VPU recover seems to have done the trick.
Lately I’ve been having crashing issues whenever I film. I tried updating FRAPS the other day but I still crashed. So I’ve made some tweaks to the system to see what happens.
The problem I’m having is that after awhile of filming the game window will lock up for a moment, followed by it maximizing to the point of the monitor going out of range which forces me to have to power it off or press the reset button. I’m thinking it may possibly related to the Logitech panel software. I did a reinstall of it plus I’ve done some tweaking to the video card. I’ve done a couple tests already (windowed still) and so far it seems to be holding up.
As an aside I may have to enable the FRAPS FPS overlay. My computer records video so seamlessly that I forget that I have it running.
been binding programs to my default profile. For ultimate laziness. Now with the press of a button I can start Steam, IRC, Seamonkey, and XFire.
Ah well. Back to setting it up 😛
Today I successfully learned chroma-keying in premiere and after effects. I can now let my brain rot for the rest of the day.
Out of sheer boredom (and being a successful overlord) I have decided that if you want to view the steam room you will have to work for it. As of now you must have ten posts and beyond to view the steam room! Once you have ten posts I will grant access. There are exceptions to the rule too.
Being an administrator/global moderator
Being a true blue Slacker
Being a Meter Room member
Those of you who join with the desire to read the steam room and only the steam room will have to work a little harder. 😛
Posts and comments dating back to the start of “I am Uru and so can you” have been imported to this blog. Feel free to read nostalgic posts where I verbally beat the shit out of certain asshats…
To get our minds off of the tsunami a bit (plus I kinda sorta already planned this beforehand) I treated my father to a bit of TF2 tonight. He’s a n00b at it so I setup bots on our dedicated server. He’s still learning but he did alright, him and I even got some achievements!
I’ll be playing more TF2 over the next several days. I’d like to get more practice in myself.
Today I had a day off. Good thing too because I stayed up till dawn trying to figure out why port 80 was blocked on my main computer. Turns out my mac address changed. I haven’t downloaded any executables or anything out of the ordinary. The only thing I can think of was that something got passed something I unblocked with NoScript in my browser. So far the problem hasn’t returned since I entered the new mac address back into the hardware firewall.
Today I tested my new Intel Extreme processor. I got some real nice results with it! I’m still thinking of moving onto a newer system with core 2 duo processors and crossfire capability in the new year though after tax time. I need serious power for filming in game videos. Fraps does a great job dragging down the framerate and unfortunately while Source Recorder does a wondrous job keeping all the frames it doesn’t seem to want to record my voice along with everyone else.
On another note, time to get some shut eye for the zombie apocalypse in my area…
