Still haven’t run out of parodies. 😀
Video games are the cause of the latest shootings?
With all of the shootings that have been reported lately, someone has decided to take a stand and point the finger rightfully where it belongs. Violent video games…
Violent video games are drawing new scrutiny in the wake of the Newtown elementary school tragedy. Some gamers are already giving them up … voluntarily.
Reminds me of the good ol 90’s. When games like Tomb Raider and DOOM were considered to be evils of society. 😛
“All of it is kill, just kill as many people as you can without dying,” Max Goldstein said.
They’re opponents… like in war. I supposed next war is going to be outlawed?
Each one is what they call a “first-person shooter,” a game in which the player looks at a digital landscape through the sights of a weapon and uses it on enemies.
Or a fish! You can slap people with a fish! TF2 taught me that so we should outlaw those too!
“We hope people will drop off … and destroy them,” said Jackson Mittleman, Goldstein’s brother.
The adults are wondering why they didn’t think of it first.
Why doesn’t he just trade his games in for something that would fit his personality… Like say, Peggle? Or Barbie fashion expo!
But no… Whenever something like this happens people seem to want to divert from the problem. The problem doesn’t lie within what we play on the compute or console, nor is it what we watch on TV or in the theaters. It’s the people who have the desire to commit these crimes who are to blame. They can easily access these weapons. That, is the problem. I say this as a pro gun person.
Well, the world didn’t end. I had to go to work.
But it looks like the world ended for someone else. 😛
Christmas Day 21
There is one thing worse than a Christmas remake of a Christmas remake… Star Wars the Christmas special.
This dream goes unlisted.
I had a weird dream last night about an old member of the Uru Community who hasn’t been around in years. So I made a dream about what happened. I’ve made the video link only, this one might be harder to understand. To those who click it anyway, may the FSM have mercy on your eggrolls.
In other news: Facebook continues to suck.
Apparently they’re testing a service that allows internet telemarketers to pay to message you.
Today we’re starting a small experiment to test the usefulness of economic signals to determine relevance. This test will give a small number of people the option to pay to have a message routed to the Inbox rather than the Other folder of a recipient that they are not connected with.
Several commentators and researchers have noted that imposing a financial cost on the sender may be the most effective way to discourage unwanted messages and facilitate delivery of messages that are relevant and useful.
Suuuuuuuure that won’t get abused. 😆
