In Control Of My Own Sunday

It’s been awhile since I last touched Control – long enough that I decided to start over again from the beginning. It gives me an excuse to make a proper config for my gaming keyboard, and to appreciate the 4K experience!

Dressing for the job.

I even decided to follow instructions on the PCGamingWiki to get the Playstation DLC via a hex editor. The instructions were pretty straight forward. I might check out some of the retexture mods at the Modders Nexus next time I decide to play. It could help add a little flair to my Photo Mode barrage. 😛

MY PRECIOUS!!!!!

I re-obtained the Floppy of Telekinesis before calling it a night. I think I’m fully refreshed on how to play again, and I even left notes for my future self to make sure I don’t get lost a second time. It’s one of the unfortunate side effects of traveling in between game universes, sometimes you forget a few things.

Back To The Calamity

Bastion being welcomed by his sky fam.
When you’re here, you’re family.

Scrolled through my endless list of entertainment and decided to chill with some Bastion on Steam Deck! Apparently I’ve been away long enough that they threw me a small welcome back party!

Something Borked

I was tackling one of the Proving Grounds when it displayed this error. The .Net and Micrsoft XNA framework were enough to clue me in to the fact that it was defaulting to the Windows version, via Proton. Thankfully the native Linux build pulled through perfectly, and I was able to score 1st Place in one of the Proving Grounds.

This one was a real Mother to figure out. You have to destroy all of these targets, and if you want 1st Place you have to destroy all the targets with only 5 arrows. It was a pain in the ass, but eventually I nailed it! Now I’m giving my hand a break after attempting the Smashy Smashy Proving Grounds. I made 3rd and 2nd Place, but I can’t seem to smash 100 objects in under 27 seconds… perhaps if they were all watermelons I’d feel more inspired.

Last Mission Before Signing Off

We had a 45 minute hailstorm this evening, and it gave me a good excuse to warm up the house with more Mech fighting! I have a good crew so far, and 7 Mechs to choose from. Also tested the game on Steam Deck this morning, and it runs really well! I’m really enjoying the different planets and missions.

I wanted to jump back into animating today, but I haven’t been feeling too well today. My head is in a bit of a haze, which is an improvement over being in copious amounts of pain. Kinda makes me wish I had one more day off to recover, but I should be ok enough in the morning to go. My body craves more sleep.

Starfox But With Cats and More Lasers

Found Whisker Squadron Survivor during my hunt for Next Fest demos, and I think I found a winner! It’s basically Star Fox but with cats and a roguelike leveling system.

I played it in between my desktop and my deck perfectly fine. It supports higher refresh rates, the music slaps, and even for being a demo it looks really well polished. I’m looking forward to the full version!

I Fell Into Deadfall Adventures Over The Weekend

Picked back up on Deadfall Adventures. If you like games with a mix of action, guns, and puzzles this game has a good mix. You play as James Lee Quatermain, an adventurer that can’t hold onto money to save his life. He helps another adventurer by the name of Jennifer Goodwin to retrieve the Heart Of Atlantis, which is actually scattered into different pieces (like a certain Scion of Atlantis 😛 ) and spread across different countries. This game has everything from adventure, to weapons, to puzzles and LOTS of Nazis to kill. If you ignore the bad voice acting and the occasional bug, it really has been fun to explore.

I’ve made it to the Arctic, and have just made it outside the wasteland. This is pretty much where my adventure ends for now, until I get to pick up this title again at least. I am happy that I made some progress on it though, despite certain bugs getting in the way. Next weekend I have other ideas for game time.

Two days of pain, one day of joy

I pushed myself into Windows today with the idea of playing a game in my library that I haven’t played before. Give myself a break from video making, if only for a day… So I figured I’d give the newest Soul Calibur a shot:

All Praise To The Melon Goddess

Most of my time was spent in character creation seeing what all the options were, and I finally settled on this appearance. It’s kinda sad… I spent two hours in the game and most of it was on the character creation screen. I guess next time I play this I’ll be ready at least.

I also decided to chillax in Quake Champions with Yutram. We found a new mode called AAArena, where everyone is B.J Blazkowitz with lightning guns. Apparently when it comes to anti nazi’s with lightning powers Yutram and I are gods of thunder.

We have always joked about being the same person… :melon:
