Feeling 200GB Lighter

I’ve been through quite a bit of footage this evening, nothing worth keeping. Of course, this just means I can make room for better recordings. 😀 I’ve been doing test recordings whenever I have time to game, and 4K takes up an electric metric fuck ton of space. Through all of the endless searching, through gigabytes upon gigabytes of digital memories that were inevitably destined to meet the sacred trash can — I did eventually land upon some Okami footage that has successfully evaded deletion.

For now at least…

Two hours of the first recording was easily transformed into just a few minutes. I have one more separate recording of Okami to go over, but it looks like it will make at least one video when I’m done. I still need to go over potential animation points. There is potential for at least a scene or two.

Three Videos Become Two

Before I could wrap up my video project I needed to record a voice line for the intro, but I had to wait due to the sounds of birds chirping, lawn mowers buzzing, and the neighborhood redneck couples yelling and cussing each other out on the front lawn in front of their $3000 dog that they leave alone leashed in the lawn for 12 hours a day. You know, a typical Wednesday.

So, while waiting for things to quiet down — I looked into chopping up the remaining third part, only to find there wasn’t enough for it’s own episode. So, it’s looking like it will just be two videos: One with an assload of animation, and one that’s mostly gameplay. Honestly? That works for me. I can stop playing with pig models and move onto the next thing.

What might that be? I’m not sure yet. I’m going through some TF2 footage that I may or may not use. What started out as a couple hours of footage has now been condensed down to a couple minutes.Whether I decide if any is worth keeping or not will have to be determined after some sleep, and other important shit.

One More Night

Episode 2 is 99% complete! I just need to do a little polishing to a couple areas, and then I can add the second video to the can. Afterwards, I’ll be able to give Episode 3 my attention, unlike Valve I will release an Episode 3! Though to be fair if they released an Episode 3 it would totally blow me out of the water.

Late Night Open Thread

I don’t have much to write. Just enjoying some green chai and eggnog, all the while working on some animation. I still have a bit to go, but next December’s videos are coming along quite nicely! I’m working on the third installment currently, and there will probably be a fourth. I’m actually moving along at a decent rhythm. I’ll probably be done with this particular saga by the end of the year, just in time to start on another project(s)! I’m planning to return to working on the Amnesia one, which is appropriate because I forgot where I left off on that particular one! Fortunately, I kept notes before moving onto the more wintery stuffs.

Planning Ahead

I’ll have at least one more video to release in December. That will make a total of six videos for the entire year, last year it was only three! After December I probably won’t be releasing anything for awhile — I want to tackle some videos that could be perfect for seasonal reasons, and if I give myself some time and room to work it could turn out to be quite the ride! I’d like to release what I’m currently working on by next month, but with what I want to put into it I don’t think I would make it by the holiday. Of course, this just means that I’ll have plenty of time to get it all prepped for the next season! I already wrote an intro, now I just need to extract the animation audio, build the scenes, and it’ll be ret-2-go!

Now, to rest and hopefully do a little more tomorrow.

Audible Hurdles

Spent a bit of the evening editing some recently recorded audio, and piecing it into SFM to prep for the next session. The hardest part is always listening to my own voice; contrary to what most people might think I don’t particularly care for how it sounds, but I try not to let audible disfigurement get in the way. 😛 It might even annoy the right person!

Cutting Off More Than I Can Show

The good news is that I finished putting the video together! The bad news is that in doing so I’ve uncovered a problem during editing; the video is too fucking short. The third Bayonetta video is about two and a half minutes total in length after editing out excess footage. This leaves me with no choice but to shelve the project until some other conditions are met first. That doesn’t mean the video is dead or anything, but it won’t be releasing this year. But hey, there are already the first two next month plus one on November (and hopefully December if I don’t go too insane).

Inside The Overlord’s Studio: Prepping For Part 3

Chopped up more video footage in preparations to start on the next video project. In game footage alone I have a little over three and a half minutes, and 46 seconds of it being animated. I also plan to have an animated ending to accompany it. I can hash out the story with a friend while I get started on animating dialogue from the livestream itself. I didn’t have much time today, and tomorrow I’ll be busy with some errands. Probably won’t really be able to dig into it for another day or two.

I don’t think I’ll be able to make October with this one; a much needed vacation is a couple weeks away, and I’ll be doing a lot of travel faaaaaar away from home. I’m in dire need of a break, and a good cure seems to be going to Yellowstone with my camera to take some sweet pics! If I do end up releasing anything it probably won’t even be until near the end of the year, or until I need to stop in favour of another video in need of finishing. I have a two weeks to get as much out of the way as possible, and depending on what I achieve I’ll either continue on the project, or start on the one I have planned for December.

Project Update: It Trudges Along

Still hard at work on my Bayonetta project. It’s looking like I’ll have two videos to produce, at least from what I can tell so far. I spent the evening tweaking my character’s animation, should have most of it done by tomorrow… then I can go off and animate the other half of the scene from another perspective. 😛 I wish I had a picture to share, but it really isn’t going to look like much unless you see it in motion, or with the other half of the scene at play.

More on that later. :v
