Knockin’ The Dust Off Borderlands 3!

I was sifting through our to-do list of multiplayer games that have yet to be completed, and tonight I was feeling a bit of a pining for the Borderlands. We traveled to Borderlands 3 and managed to complete some quests. It was a fun slay session. We partied and died like Rockstars on the battlefield, over and over again.

Other than that I breezed through some video footage and got some cleaning done. All thanks to the power of a balanced breakfast that may or may not involve bacon.I only have a few days left before I have to return to reality, so I’m doing my best to enjoy myself… even if it means listening to Claptrap a bit.

Back 4 Blood is Better Than Florida

We had rain today! Perfect weather for trying out some of the new blueberry tea I stocked up on! I usually drink a black tea with blueberry, but also decided to try a green tea with blueberry. It also has hibiscus and some other stuff, extremely refreshing!I finished assembling the super secret care package, vibed to some music, did a bit of animating, and played a couple acts of Back 4 Blood with Yutram.

We had a better time getting around tonight, this time there was less dying. We dialed back the difficulty so that we could find our way around better. Did a better job of taking in the sights, and crossed some achievements off our list. I still like the Left 4 Dead’s better, but tonight I think Back 4 Blood grew on me a little bit more.

A Whole Other Wonderland

Alice arrives in wonderland.

I never played any of American McGee’s Alice games, and that changed this evening! I never bothered making an EA/Origin account, and didn’t feel like doing so. But several years later when EA returned to Steam and a few sales later I ended up getting it, but never got around to playing it until now. It released in 2011 but the graphics hold up really well!

ALL ABOARD!!!!

I also installed it onto my Steam Deck! Unfortunately it doesn’t offer cloud saves, which means unless I manually update my saves in between my systems I’ll have to play two separate saves. Other than that it runs really well on a hand held, controls and all.

Time For A Lil’ Makeover

Made some changes to the blog tonight! Replaced the RSS plugin that I was using for fetching my Mastodon posts with a more proper plugin, plus I played with the look of the site. I decided to lighten the colors up a bit since we have a Dark Mode to use as an alternative. 🙂 There are a couple more things I’d like to implement and change, but this will do for now.

I did get through another chapter of BloodRayne Betrayal: Fresh Bites, been playing it here and there in my spare time. Stopped on Chapter 9 tonight. This has to be one of the hardest Metroidvanias I’ve ever played hands down. I died so many times trying to get past pools of acid without missing platforms. It makes the Shantae series look like child’s play by comparison.

Dawning of a Dying Light

Got some cobwebs dusted off my eternal gaming backlog tonight, and kept it Spooktober themed in the process! Tonight I tested my mettle at Zombie Parkour in Dying Light. I made it past the first level, did a little city sight seeing and even grabbed a few achievements. The controls took a little getting used to, but it’s basically Dead Island: Parkour Edition (it’s even developed by the same company). It also has co-op and mod support! It’s also a Deck Verified game; I might have to consider adding it to my Steam Deck to get through it faster. I’ve already finished 9 games this year, and only a couple more months before the new one begins. Usually I finish 4, or 5 if I’m lucky.

I have a few other pix on Masto.

Bloodstained Sunday Open Thread

Made it to 96% completion in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night! Finished some quests, a couple of Boss Battles. I might actually finish it some time this month! As usual, more pics can be found on the Mastodon!

Hades’ Elysium

Made it out of Asphodel, and as far as Elysium! Who knew there were heavenly parts of Hades? Of course I was sent back after meeting a couple new buddies.

At least I finally defeated that damned bone hydra and freed Orpheus.

I also redecorated the halls and completed a few prophecies, enough that I can take a break from it for now. 🙂 It’s time to call it a night anyway, and reality demands that I rest for it.

Infiltrating The Hive

Welcome to The Hive.

I always seem to find myself going back to the Left 4 Dead’s at least every Spooktober Season. It fits the vibe, AND if you’re on PC you can enjoy an entire community’s worth of imagination. I was browsing GameMaps this afternoon for a potential fun campaign to play this evening with a friend, and I came across The Hive – a campaign based in the Resident Evil Universe. Five maps in total, with much to explore, decent pacing and a comprehensive hint system put in by the map developer. Plus, each time you play the campaign it will randomly choose a path in the map for you to go! Giving more of a reason to play it again, and again, and a…

Umbrella’s current project: Manufacturing the Glitch Virus

There were some bugs here and there, but it was mostly a couple missing textures and some weird special infected spawns. I don’t really have any other complaints! It was very well put together from intro to exit. If you’re feeling a nostalgic itch to play some Left 4 Dead 2 I recommend giving this one a go!

When Quests Do Themselves

I’ve been adventuring so much in Dust an Elysian Tail that I had all the materials to complete each Fale quest tonight in one visit! It was funny just sitting there, solving each quest with a “Here are those materials you asked for, Fale.” without having to venture off to purchase or loot my way to victory. At this point I have three sidequests and the main story to look forward to, when I get to it. 🙂
