Watermelon Cocaine

This wasn’t on my 21st Century Bingo Card.

The shipment was taken off the truck and, upon a closer look, officers discovered a seedy situation: 1,220 packages of methamphetamine, wrapped in paper and painted two shades of green to mimic a watermelon.

It’s official. Cocaine Watermelons will now be a thing.

The Watermelon Diaries: Syrup Edition

It isn’t very often that I sweeten my tea (unless it’s a chai, or I’m sick and need a honey boost), but today I made an exception and had a little of this with some green tea. It’s like drinking sweet, sweet nectar. It was love at first sip this morning, when I added it to some mango black tea for some sweetness.

Just glancing at their website I can see they have some interesting recipes I wouldn’t mind trying in the not too distant future. I’m also trying to think of other teas that it could pair with. It can make an already refreshing tea even moreso with that alluring watermelon taste!

(This isn’t paid advertising btw… I just really love watermelon.)

Why Yes, Exotic Beer Is A Thing

The Koreans have found a way to improve beer.

I was going through my RSS feed, as I typically do throughout the day just to see what’s on the up and up — and I found a couple interesting articles over at SoraNews64, a blog where I get my fix for all things Japan and Asia! I stumbled upon this post from 2015 in the related, and never have I have I been overwhelmed with an equal amount of disgust, and intrigue at the same time… that was until I saw the Watermelon one and went “fuck me”. That one is probably the most likely beverage out of all of them that I’d be willing to drink, and the grapefruit one might even be a close second; but the cream and cotton candy ones both delight my eyes and make me puke in my mouth all at the same time.

Maybe I would like some of them though? I mean, most people think I’m insane for liking Kimchi…

Therapeutic Anti Stress Melon?

Apparently I’ve built a reputation at work. Anytime a watermelon product comes in now random people that range from people I’ve worked with to people I barely know will pull me aside to show me watermelon related collectables. This little one was brought to my attention yesterday, and for about five bucks I decided a lavender scented melon wedge. I’ve never seen watermelon products in the winter… at least locally. Where the seven layers of party dip is this sudden trend of watermelon coming from? I’m still trying to figure out why it’s lavender scented. Then again there were alternative options that I could have purchased which include a cactus, avocado (fuck the avocado, but seriously don’t fuck the avocado) and french fries which carry the same scent of flowers.

I might try microwaving it a bit tonight before bed. The scent alone lulled me to sleep last night upon going horizontal, either that or the entire two hours of sleep I had before going to work at 3 AM to work may have had a slight influence.

Watermelon Oatmeal is a thing now… I’ve decided

Out of morbid curiosity I wanted to see if I could make a particular oatmeal with an infusion of juice and tea. Waters and milks are frequently used in making oatmeal, so why not juice, tea or both? After all tea is basically water with tasty plants. So this little experiment consists of green tea with ginseng, watermelon juice, honey, and walnuts. I might have to look into making an overnight oats version to enjoy the taste of cold watermelon, although it did taste good warm as well.

How do you like my melons?

People like mah melons.

The melon craziness has been invading my wardrobe moar as of late. I had some extra bonus money last month and thought I’d get myself a themed hoodie. My Mum is even in on the trend, she knitted me this:

Also having white hair always seems to throw people off even though I’ve pretty much kept it that way since the accident almost 4 years ago. Older women seem to like it. Most men either think I’m trying to bag someone in their 70’s or question why it is that way, or if its natural (and in some cases they think its a fucking wig).

This hair color has basically become my ultimate bullshit detector.

Taste The Melon Rainbow

I’ve been partaking in different watermelon related teas (when I’m not partaking in tea in general) and came upon a nice calming combo.

Juicy watermelon and fresh mint come together for the ultimate in zingy tea bliss. Watermelon Mint Agua will have you daydreaming of a Mexican beach resort getaway. Say adiós to the stresses of the day!

Once steeped, Watermelon Mint Agua Fresca has a pleasant minty sweet melon aroma; and at first sip, the rich, sweet, juicy watermelon taste is quickly followed by cooling mint and sweet fruit juice taste. You can almost hear the waves of a beach resort getaway in the distance- with each sip of minty freshness bursting with juicy fresh watermelon.

Watermelon Mint Agua Fresca is delicious prepared hot, but it also makes a fantastic iced tea (or iced tea base for a tea cocktail!). Sombrero and maracas are optional.

Sombreros… it’s like they already know.
