The Black Labyrinth Awaits

I ascended the tower on the dark coast of the AMID EVIL Black Labyrinth DLC. I always marvel at the thought put into the level design, it’s on par or exceeds the base game in terms of creativity.

The optional Ray Tracing features also render nicely without taking much of a punch to my framerate. Makes for a lovely fighting arena. 🙂

Survived the first boss battle! The Storm Spirit! I slain the dragon with my scythe, planets and other weapons I had at my disposal. It was fun being picked up by the Dragon and getting tossed into the air, it makes me wonder what the other boss(es) will be like.

The scenery has a habit of catching you off guard if you’re not careful. I was surprised by the giant swords that pelted the outside walls of the labyrinth. They were not my enemy though, they assisted me in getting further through my journey. Now I’m at a nice safe location for when I decide to pick up next. 🙂

Selfies In Freedom Planet 2 Are A Thing

While my RGB furnace was cranking out sweet animated nightmare fuel, I was chilling with a bit of Freedom Planet 2 on my Steam Deck! Carol was lagging behind my other character saves, so I gave her a little boost tonight. I didn’t notice the Photo Mode option the last time I played, kinda different for a 2D sidescroller but eh… I’ll allow it! 😛 I think I’m having more fun playing as Carol than in the previous game, her disc throwing ability allows her to gain distance similar to Lilac’s dragon boost technique. I still prefer playing Lilac, but the other characters also offer a fun challenge.

Yesterday’s Adventure, Tonight’s Post

Dust discovers a friendo.

Made it to 80% yesterday! Rescued a friend, found another chest and collected some more keys. I would have played a little more tonight, but it’s been one of those days where I find myself busy from before dawn to after moonrise. I’ll make up for it tomorrow by making time to play something completely different.

Silent As The Night

Made it out of the Mausoleum tonight! Also have one foot through the graveyard already taken care of for next time. I enjoyed playing this while enjoying a cherry blossom field candle and cherry blossom tea. I need a little bit of those spring vibes to help counter the darkness. I’m thinking I’ll shift back to playing some more Kena tomorrow; maybe conquer more of the new area I discovered, also Photo Mode. 😛 Speaking of Photos…

Gloom and Bloom

The lack of sunlight today made me crave some Kena: Bridge of Spirits. I made it to the ruins, cleaned a shrine, won a couple skirmishes, and purified part of the land. Even managed to kill three monsters with an arrow! The small, colorful escape was needed after a week of what felt like grey.

The passing of one friend, and trying to ease the depression of another friend and not knowing what to do have been on my mind all week. After some fun and rest I can recollect myself for a weekend of recovery. I have all kinds of plans ahead of me? What ones? ALL OF THEM. Need to get started on the holiday related bullshit for friends and fam.

Fondling My Deck For An Hour

Chilled this evening with a little bit of Dust: An Elysian Tail on my Steam Deck. I’m currently sitting at 78% completion. Found a chest, a couple keys and some red moss tonight. Also managed to complete a couple quests, good way to kill an hour.

I haven’t decided if I’m going to upgrade to the new Steam Deck or not; the hardware upgrades are good, but the refresh rate isn’t enough for me to really consider it for that. The only thing that makes it tempting for me is the 1TB edition, and the improved battery power… but with my luck they’ll probably release a 120hz model next year with even better features, like cooling when playing 3D intensive games. When I use my Steam Deck I’m always within an area to charge it when I need to, and with what I’ve played on it I get a gaming laptop’s worth or better in battery power, which is enough for me.

Dusting Off Dust

Today when I woke up to gray and rainy weather, all warm in nice clean bedding. I opened up my tablet to do some cozy in bed reading, only to find there was no internet. I managed to survive the six hour outage by doing other things. A little more tidying, some animation and even prepping a video.

Other than that I’ve been playing through Dust: An Elysian Tail on my Steam Deck. Started at 68% completion tonight and left it at 72%. Survived a boss battle and found a bunch of keys and several chests that may or may not have contained a bunch of hot dogs, and maybe a blue print (not for making hot dogs). The scenery matched today’s weather, and chillin’ on the Steam Deck brought back old school rainy day Game Boy sessions.

Might have to play a little more under the covers. 🙂 It’s supposed to be pissing down for the next few days, may as well get comfortable with my game collection. 🙂

The Demonic Purging Will Continue Until Morale Improves

Tonight was another fun evening of playing badass girls in dresses, only tonight it was a Metroidvania kind of evening! I made it through Stage 3, it was actually easier than the previous stage and I made another friend!

So far I’ve done well keeping to my Spooktober themed collection of demons and monsters. I already have a preview of what the next area is going to look like:

Our heroes standing in the middle of a lovely garden.

It looks like I’ll have some gardening to tend to the next time I return. 🙂 I’m thinking of doing some Science tomorrow night. I still have some Portal 2 Halloween maps I want to play through!

Time For A Lil’ Makeover

Made some changes to the blog tonight! Replaced the RSS plugin that I was using for fetching my Mastodon posts with a more proper plugin, plus I played with the look of the site. I decided to lighten the colors up a bit since we have a Dark Mode to use as an alternative. 🙂 There are a couple more things I’d like to implement and change, but this will do for now.

I did get through another chapter of BloodRayne Betrayal: Fresh Bites, been playing it here and there in my spare time. Stopped on Chapter 9 tonight. This has to be one of the hardest Metroidvanias I’ve ever played hands down. I died so many times trying to get past pools of acid without missing platforms. It makes the Shantae series look like child’s play by comparison.
