I ascended the tower on the dark coast of the AMID EVIL Black Labyrinth DLC. I always marvel at the thought put into the level design, it’s on par or exceeds the base game in terms of creativity.
The optional Ray Tracing features also render nicely without taking much of a punch to my framerate. Makes for a lovely fighting arena. π
Survived the first boss battle! The Storm Spirit! I slain the dragon with my scythe, planets and other weapons I had at my disposal. It was fun being picked up by the Dragon and getting tossed into the air, it makes me wonder what the other boss(es) will be like.
The scenery has a habit of catching you off guard if you’re not careful. I was surprised by the giant swords that pelted the outside walls of the labyrinth. They were not my enemy though, they assisted me in getting further through my journey. Now I’m at a nice safe location for when I decide to pick up next. π
Made some progress in Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night! I discovered a secret lab, which contained secret monsters, and a clone of myself that needed to be defeated. I played this in between my Steam Deck and my Desktop – Cloud Saving FTW.
Then it was onto multiplayer activities! Yutram and I braved more Borderlands 2 DLC, and squared off against credits that were almost as long as the DLC itself. Actually, we’re still going through it, but we had credits forced down our throat before it was over because reasons. We did earn an achievement though, so that was something. I’m not sure if the collected footage will be of any value, but I’m currently saving it to one of my recording drives. I’ve already nearly filled one of them up again! That 4K footage just eats up even more room.
It was another cold and foggy day; perfect for warm tea and catching up on a digital universe or two. I played DOOM Eternal, now with Ray Tracing! I also tackled some long overdue Borderlands 2 DLC with Yutram. We decided to begin our assault on Dragon Keep in Tiny Tina’s DLC, and so far this might be my favourite on a comedic scale. We’re definitely going to have to return to this one at a later date, and I might have to actually film it! π I was happy enough just being able to play!
Over the weekend Yutram and I privately delved into some of the DLC of Borderlands 2. In an hours time we managed to fuck up a wedding, catch a bunch of worms, ruined the lives of a robot couple by stealing their wig for a quest that gave us fuck all in return, and collected tapes for an old perverted stalker. All in all a productive evening.
I did enjoy the love potion quest. I never knew Baby Goliaths could be a thing, though I shouldn’t be surprised. I think the only thing weirder than the baby in this quest was the wedding itself.
I did at least manage to record it locally. I’ll go over it at another date when I sift through the terabytes of what I’ve already recorded, still chugging away on the Skyrim Hunger Games. Will probably start posting some teasers of that next week, after I unveil the second and final part of Super Bomberman R.
βWith giving people the ability to purchase Red Orbs, itβs something we want to give people as an option. If they want to save time and just want to get all the stuff at once, those people can do that. But on the other hand I donβt feel you have to get all the moves. You should be able to play it the way you want to play it.β
Needless to say I’m not entirely surprised by the news; when DMC4:SE released it had a bunch of DLC you could purchase that would give you extra orbs, plus unlock all modes and versions of Dante, Nero and Vergil. I never bought the DLC because I wanted to play it the old school way (even though at the time it released on PC before I could get my hands on the HD collection). Still, considering this is a single player game it seems rather cheap to just purchase your way through a good portion of the game instead of earning it yourself. What’s to stop someone from modding their game instead? I could understand it better if you wanted to purchase new levels or maybe even skins. But to me it seems like they’re exploiting gamers who don’t have the patience to learn or are too lazy to mod cheats into their game… Yeah, I honestly believe there is more effort in modding or hacking your game than purchasing handicaps.
Today I played a good chunk of DMC1, and while I hate to admit that the game has kicked my ass more than I’d like to share, its still fun facing these challenges. I hate sounding like one of those asshats that despises new people coming into a game and making a big stink about not playing it the same way that I’m doing it, or how gamers these days need to have their hands held through every obstacle, and to be honest those people make me cringe… THIS however strikes a chord with me, and seems lazy for both parties. Capcom makes a buck off of lazy gamers that want a good chunk of stuff handed to them, and the gamers get what they want by opening up their wallets and throwing them at their singleplayer game.
Is this going to put me off from buying the game? No. Am I going to pre-order? I already said in a previous thread no. I’ll buy the game, but I’m filing it under Shadow Of The Tomb Raider status: I’ll get to it when the prices go down. I have enough on my plate as it is, like meeting up with friends in other games to smoke a fucking eyeball.
Much like this picture I just find this use of microtransactions to be rather ridiculous. Now excuse me while I smoke a fat eyeball and hit the hay.
I’ve been pondering the games I’ve left unfinished lately, although Jazzpunk is one I’ve already finished more than once. But then came The Flavour Nexus DLC, something I should have touched a long time ago. The DLC itself is rather short, but packs quite a bit of humour and slapstick into it to make it worth the playtime. They somehow managed to make grocery shopping entertaining. I touched everything I could, and was even treated to a jump scare involving a mummy.
Unfortunately for the mummy his curse didn’t do anything to me… I’ve already had to endure another. :melon:
E3 is in session, and already I’ve seen some cool games and concepts that I’m already looking forward to getting my hands on. I’ve decided to compile a list from today’s findings. featuring flashy trailers!
Having played The New Order and Colossus I was filled with extreme hype when I saw them mention Wolfenstein: Youngblood. It features what I’m guessing are the daughters of B.J Blaskowitz, two specifically to represent a coop mode. My only concern being if it’ll be coop only or if it’ll feature a single player campaign like all the other games. I’d also like the idea of a local coop, for playing with someone on the couch. π As another small note I wonder how long it’ll take before someone gets their knickers in a twist over these two characters for having knickers.
Skyrim is one of the most ported games in existence. You can play it on XBox360, PS3, PC Thrice, XBoxOne, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and now Amazon Alexa. No word for how mod support will be rolled out, but I imagine telling Alexa to buy things over Creation Club should be easy peasy.

Available right now for free, some fun looking DLC for Prey that rolls out three new modes: Story Mode, New Game+ Mode, and Survival Mode which looks like it has some elements of Prop Hunt in it. Looks like it could be fun, I’ve been meaning to get back into Prey… Curse my many distractions. :v:
I loved DOOM2016, and when they announced they were going to make a sequel I was pretty hyped. The trailer seems to be set in what I think might be New Jersey.
Then there’s Fallout 76. This one I have mixed feelings about; mainly due to the online play. I’m wondering if it will be mainly PvP, or if it will let you just play PvE with friends. They show quite a bit of gameplay, and it does look like fun. But it also looks like it could be a big trollfest if not executed properly.
Then after watching Bethesda’s presentation I ventured to my RSS feeds and found this potential cherry waiting to be plucked:
A new Devil May Cry game, something I’ve been anticipating for awhile now. It follows Dante and Nero, ready to kick all kinds of demon ass with some new friends and even new equipment. I can’t say I like Nero’s Justin Bieber look (I almost mistook him for DmC Dante), but Dante looked pretty swank with facial hair. Though looks aside the gameplay looks like it’ll be hella fun. I can’t wait to fuck some shit up with the mechanical arm.
This is another one I have mixed feelings about. While I had fun playing Tomb Raider, and Rise Of The Tomb Raider, it still didn’t feel like a Tomb Raider game to me… maybe more like Skyrim meets Tomb Raider. They do say though that this will be the game where she becomes the legendary badass heroine she is known the world over for. As usual the graphics do easily impress, and the gameplay looks more or less like the previous two games. I do look forward to it, I just hope for a less whiny Lara this time around. I forgave it in the reboot since this was supposed to be her origin story, but in ROTT there were certain points where it was too annoying for me. Also, Microsoft had better not pull that timed exclusive bullshit again. It didn’t make sense to do that with a game that has been on multiple platforms since the dawn of fucking time. :zorak:
Then of course the lovely Ori is back in Ori and the will of the wisps. Much like its predecessor it features the same graphics with some newer tweaks, and looks to have the same emotional pull as the first game.
